Aftermath: Human Rights and the Consequences of War
April 23, 2014
One of the few documentaries addressing the long-term consequences of the U.S. occupation of Iraq, The List narrates the efforts of Kirk Johnson to secure the safety of Iraqis who worked with U.S. contractors/USAID and were targeted because of their association. Johnson’s unflagging efforts persist to present, nearly ten years after the U.S.’s occupation of the country and more than two years after its withdrawal. The film reveals that even after the war was declared “over” the effects are much more lasting than the public realizes or politicians are willing to admit.
