Dr. Samuel Moyn, the 2014 Marsha Lilien Gladstein Visiting Professor in Human Rights, will give a lecture on Tuesday, October 28th at 4pm in the Konover Auditorium, Dodd Center. The lecture is titled,"The Political Origins of Global Justice."
Samuel Moyn is professor of law and history at Harvard University. He recently left Columbia University, where he taught for thirteen years in the history department, ending as James Bryce Professor of European Legal History. His books include "The Last Utopia: Human Rights in History" (2010) and, most recently, "Human Rights and the Uses of History." He is an editor of "Humanity," an interdisciplinary journal concerning human rights, humanitarianism and development.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
