ICS-100HE, Introduction to the Incident Command System for Higher Education, introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of ICS. It also explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). This course uses the same objectives and content as other ICS courses with higher education examples and exercises.

The Office of Emergency Management is keeping track of National Incident Management System compliance across the University of Connecticut. To aid in this effort, we are documenting NIMS & ICS competency among our University employees. Therefore we ask, University staff and faculty, upon completion of your NIMS & ICS tests, to please forward a digital copy of your certificate to the Office of Emergency Management at oem@uconn.edu.
