Connecticut Innovation Nights hosts First New Product Showcase Event in Collaboration with UConn’s Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry and Office of Public Engagement Free Event Taps Power of Social Media to Drive Visibility for Local Entrepreneurs
Storrs, CT (April 10, 2017) -- On Monday April 10, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Ballard Institute and the Museum of Puppetry in Storrs will host the first CT Innovation Night (CTIN), a free monthly product launch showcase and networking event. The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is one of America’s hidden treasures—a superb collection of over 2,500 puppets from all over the world; an archive of books, manuscripts, posters, drawings, audio-visual materials and photographs all covering the history of puppetry. The Institute also offers workshops, museum tours, artists’ forums, film showings, performances, and other events and programs that promote the art of puppetry as a twenty-first-century art form with deep historic and global roots.
“CT Innovation Nights is a nomadic event, stemmed out of the Boston region and now entering the Connecticut market, with aspirations to partner with companies that support entrepreneurs and innovators across the state,” said Angelina Capalbo, licensee of CT Innovation Nights. “UConn and it’s School of Fine Arts and School of Business are a perfect partner to help get our events off of the ground here in Connecticut. Located just off UConn’s main campus in an area called Storrs Center, a mixed-use center in town where an eclectic mix of restaurants, shops, offices, homes, walkways, and green spaces create a connected, thriving community for everyone in the region.”
CT Innovation Nights events are free to attend, but attendees are asked to “tell” someone else, either through a blog post, a tweet, a Facebook mention, or simply by talking with a friend about the cool products they see. Register in advance on our website at http://ct.innovationnights.com. A single event can generate hundreds of tweets, blog posts, status updates, online video and pictures. The products being presented in April are currently being recruited and submissions are now being accepted.
CT Innovation Nights (CTIN) offers an opportunity for people interested in innovative new products to connect live and online in Connecticut. For companies, the Innovation Nights community offers increased online and social media visibility as well as an opportunity to showcase in front of a supportive live audience. Each month, companies bring new products to the event and the social media community helps spread the word. The events have helped to launch more than 750 local products in the past seven years. Follow CTIN on Facebook Twitter and Linkedin or visit the website at http://ct.innovationnights.com.
