India shoulders close to one third of the world’s cervical cancer burden. Although it is such a preventable cancer, hundreds of thousands of Indian women die annually because of it. Shockingly, 80% of this burden falls on rural women. So what’s the solution? What are we missing? Why is there such a disparity between rural and urban areas? We’ll be talking about and discussing these questions, as well as looking at Paul Farmer, the Upstream approach, and the social determinants of health. Come ready to discuss and think globally!
