Complexity and geometry of a quantum ground state manifold

A gapped quantum phase is described by the ground state of a parametrized parent Hamiltonian. In this talk, I will introduce an efficient description of the Hilbert space spanned by such ground state manifolds. In particular, I will show that the effective size of this Hilbert space is a geometric quantity and is related to its information-theoretic complexity.
