Cultural Trauma, Forced Exodus, Personal and Collective Responses from the Puerto Rican Diaspora in the USA

Featuring Dr. Luz López from Boston University.

Luz Marilis López, PhD, MPH, MSW was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Social Work and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. López is a faculty member in the Clinical Department at Boston University School of Social Work. She is the Associate Director of the dual degree MSW/MPH and chair of the Equity and Inclusion committee. Her research interests are in the areas of addiction, trauma and global health with immigrants and refugees.

This Lecture Series is a part of The Collaborative to Advance Equity Through Research on Women and Girls of Color.
