Changing the Self, Changing the World: Women Development Workers in Eastern India

by Dr. Srila Roy, Professor of Sociology, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa

The overarching theme of this talk is self-transformation - how individuals transform themselves in and through the practice of development and how the develpment itself can engender a range of effective, aesthetic and epistemic transformations at the subjective and potentially, social level. This talk will be followed by a reception and book release celebration.
