UConn Health
Research Conference Room, L-5040

“Current Applications in Single Cell Genomics” followed by “Illumina Office Hours” Speakers: Michael Smith, Sequencing Specialist Jason Kramer, Field Applications Scientist Location: Room L-5040 263 Farmington Avenue Farmington, CT Date: June 13, 3018 Time: 10:30am – 12pm Abstract: Illumina has an extensive portfolio of sequencing systems, from the ultra-powerful, high-throughput NovaSeq systems to the fast and flexible NextSeq to the new, rapid iSeq 100 system. Empowered by TruSeq and Nextera technologies, each sequencer features the industry’s simplest, most streamlined workflow and delivers unparalleled data quality for a wide range of research applications. One of the most exciting areas of research is Single Cell Genomics. From Split-seq and Sci-seq to Perturb-seq and Cite-seq, the field of Single Cell Genomics is advancing at an incredible rate. Keeping up on the latest applications can be a challenge, even for those in the field. Here, we will review recently published papers that utilize novel strategies, methodologies or data analysis methods for studying individual cells’ genomes or transcriptomes. We will also address technical questions around sample acquisition, requirements for cell quantity, sequencing read depth and costs.
