Science at High Energy Density and Work of the American Physical Society

Materials taken to extreme densities and temperatures exhibit unique properties due to changes in electronic structure. I will describe experiments, done at facilities that use the world’s highest energy lasers and x-ray lasers, to excite such materials and probe their properties. At the end if this talk I will focus on the work of the American Physical Society, in publishing, advocating for science, and reaching out to broader communities.
