MCB Welcomes Carole Dabney-Smith
Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Miami University
Seminar Title: Assembling the chloroplast Twin Arginine Transport (cpTAT) pathway
Dr. Dabney Smith received her PhD from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in biochemistry and studied protein import into chloroplasts under the direction of Barry Bruce. As a postdoc at the University of Florida with Ken Cline, she moved into chloroplasts to study protein transport at the thylakoid. In 2008, she became an Assistant Professor at Miami University (Ohio) and in 2011, she received the Presidential Early Career Award in Science and Engineering (PECASE). She was promoted to Associate Professor, Chemistry and Biochemistry, in 2014 and is currently the chair of the Cell, Molecular, & Structural Biology Admissions Committee.
Hosted by Dr. Alder
