When are spring/winter/semester break or holidays?
These dates are maintained by the Office of the Registrar.  You can find more information by viewing their online Academic Calendar: http://www.registrar.uconn.edu/acadcal.html.

Why isn't a particular event posted on the events calendar?
The Events Calendar uses a decentralized system for posting events.  Each University department is responsible for posting their own events to the calendar.  If you are unable to find an event, it is likely that it has not yet been posted.  Please contact the department sponsoring the event or check back at a later date.

Why wasn't my event posted on the events calendar?
Common reasons why some events don't get posted to the events calendar:

  1. University Sponsor - Every event must have a UConn sponsor.  A valid sponsor is typically a department within the University and not an individual.
  2. Spelling - Please proofread your event before submitting.
  3. Incorrect Location - An event that occurs on the Storrs campus is unlikely to be posted on any other campus calendars.  For instance, a lecture at Storrs will not appear on the Health Center's calendar.  Locations are noted in parenthesis in the calendar names.  Please submit to the appropriate calendar location.
  4. Submit to Other - The calendar titled "Other Events" is reserved for events that do not fall under the main calendar categories.  For example, an athletic event will not be posted to the "Other" calendar because it would fall under the "Athletics" calendar.  But, "Meet the President" luncheon would fall under the "Other" calendar.

My event was posted.  How do I make changes?
You should have received a confirmation email stating that your event has been posted.  Please reply to the email and indicate any changes that you would like to make to your event.  If you do not have the original email, please send an email to Margaret Malmborg (860-486-6635) indicating the changes.

I submitted my PhD notice but did not get a reply or confirmation.
The confirmation for receipt of the submission of a PhD notice is sent to the academic advisor listed in the contact information.  The request is then sent to the Events Calendar editor who will post the event within 72 hours of submission.  If you have questions regarding if the submission request was received by the Events Calendar editor, call Margaret Malmborg at 860-486-6635.

I just submitted an event, but it's not on the calendar yet.
Most events are posted within 24 hours.  However, calendar editors have 72 hours to review the event you have submitted.

I would like to book my event at UConn...
Please contact the department of Campus Activities (http://www.ca.uconn.edu/) for student related events.

I received an email stating that my event was posted, and a second email stating my event was not posted.
This is possible when submitting your event to two or more calendars.  Each calendar has an editor who reviews the event for their assigned calendar.  Upon the editor's review, an email is sent indicating whether the event was posted or not.  In some cases the event will be approved for one calendar but not another. Any event that is posted to a calendar can be viewed from the "All Events at All Locations" calendar.
