UConn Cornucopia Fest on 9/21

Come spend a fun and informative day at your College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources! The nineteenth annual Cornucopia Fest will be held Sunday, September 21 at the University of Connecticut, Route 195 and North Eagleville Road in Storrs. Look for us behind the fence this year—follow the footprints or Cornucopia parking signs! Exhibits and demonstrations from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., alumni sale at 11:00, auction at 1:00. Do the Cornucopia Challenge scavenger hunt • Run the Cornucopia 5K• Build a Lego model of a Roman aqueduct • Enter a drawing to win a kayak • Take a guided hike in the UConn Forest • Talk to our scientists • Learn about black bears in Connecticut • Watch the Cornucopia Cup polo match • Take a hayride • Bring your ailing plants to be diagnosed by the Plant Doctor• Enjoy the chicken BBQ • Bring a half cup of garden or lawn soil for a FREE pH test and limestone recommendations • Get information on pet adoption from Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary • See antique farm equipment and horse carriages• Visit the farms • Have an ice cream cone at the Dairy Bar • and much more! Admission is FREE and EVERYONE is invited! Julia, Correy and Matt will all be volunteering there throughout the day at our SVSF booth. Students can volunteer at anytime, and we would absolutely love the help! They will be making seed bombs as an activity and the question for the scavenger hunt is "Where is Spring Valley Farm?" This is a great way to meet some of the farmers, see what Cornucopia Fest is all about, and volunteer.
