Facing Poverty in our Midst: Past, Present, Future will be a community forum to educate, engage, and inspire.

Join us for a 3-part exploration of poverty policy at the federal level and the experience of poverty locally in Northeastern Connecticut.

1:00-2:30pm: Keynote Address--Sasha Abramsky, author of 'The American Way of Poverty'

2:30 - 2:45 pm: Book Signing

2:45-3:15pm: Documentary showing (film describes the experiences and effects of poverty in Northeastern Connecticut)

3:15-4:00pm: Panel discussion including human rights experts, political leaders, and community agency leaders

4:00pm: Reception

Free admission to UConn Community with UConn ID. Attending this event counts towards Sophomore Honors.
