UConn Collegium Musicum performs the Play of Saint Agnes

Friday, April 24, 2015
8:00pm – 9:30pm

St. Joseph’s Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic

The UConn Collegium Musicum performs a reconstructed fourteenth-century medieval drama about St. Agnes, a thirteen-year-old Roman girl who refuses to marry the son of the Roman prefect because she wants to devote her life to Christianity. Agnes is brought to trial and sentenced to a number of horrific tribulations, but she always overcomes them through miracles. The play is the oldest about a saint from the Occitan region of France. The performance will feature medieval and Renaissance instruments and singing techniques.

Attending this event counts towards Sophomore Honors.
