UConn Health seeks to become a leader in discovery and innovation. The purpose of the SPARK grant program is to support innovative research and early studies that will facilitate a pathway to eventual product commercialization. The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) will administer the program. All UConn Health investigators are eligible to apply. Grants of up to $30,000 will be competitively awarded to support new projects or follow-on work for previous SPARK grant recipients that have demonstrated significant results. Applications selected should have the potential to produce a return on the SPARK grant investment. SPARK awardees who received funding last year and who are seeking additional funding must submit a Progress Report describing the activities, successes and challenges associated with their initial award (two pages) and describe in detail next steps and timetable if additional funding is awarded (two pages). Written applications are due to no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27th. The review of the written documents followed by finalist presentations will be in March. The award period is up to 12 months. Email with questions or call Rita Zangari at 860-486-3010.
