“Desperately Looking for Dark Matter”

There is ample gravitational evidence for the existence of dark matter in the Universe, but its nature still eludes us. In this colloquium, I will give a survey of some potential dark matter candidates, mostly focusing on so-called WIMPs or weakly interacting massive particles and the their experimental search, but will also consider some more exotic, but still alive and well possibilities.

Refreshments will be prior to the talk, at 3:00 p.m., in the Gant Complex, Physics Library, Room P-103. We will be celebrating employee appreciation.
