Accessibility Awareness: Understanding Life with a Disabilit

Monday, April 13, 2015
7:00pm – 8:00pm

Storrs Campus
Buckley Classroom

Abled Bodiedness is a trait often taken for granted by many students with that privilege. Our program aims to raise awareness for accessibility on campus. We think that it is important for students to understand their privileges and also be aware of how other people live. The program will consist of a series of games that will put students into the shoes of members of the community who have disabilities. The students will then have a discussion about what they took away from each experience and how they can be more aware of accessibility going forward. The disabilities represented by the games will by Autism Spectrum Disorder, Physical Disabilities, and Hearing and Visual Impairment.

Attending this event counts towards Sophomore Honors.
