PrEParing For P.L.E.A.S.U.R.E.: Talk with Damon L. Jacobs

Wednesday, April 29, 2015
12:45pm – 2:00pm

Hartford Campus
School of Social Work, Zachs Community Room

Damon L. Jacobs, LMFT, is one of the nation’s leading and most visible advocates for the use of Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), a once-a-day pill that has been shown to successfully curb the transmission of HIV in those who do not have the virus. When taken consistently, PrEP has been shown to reduce the risk of HIV infection in people who are at high risk by up to 92% (CDC, 2014). Using a fun and interactive format, Jacobs will show how PrEP can help provide proactive, responsible, and empowered pleasure for all consumers of this groundbreaking and powerful HIV prevention tool. A Q & A will follow.

Food will be provided. Please RSVP by e-mailing jr_alberto.cifuentes@uconn.edu.

This event is co-sponsored by PRIDE, Doctoral Student Organization (DS0), Student Veterans and Supporters Alliance (SVSA), Women's Caucus, and Community Organization Concentration.
