Synopsis: Exploring the human and shared space that is often referred to as “discomfort” with our bodies in direct relationship to our biological sex, gender identity, and where we find ourselves on any given day/moment on the spectrum of masculinity, femininity or neither. Everyone has a gender identity, no one is 100% comfortable, and everyone can conjure feelings the experience of a trans person. Everyone is transgender.

Biography: Ian Harvie has been seen on Comedy Central’s THE NIGHTLY SHOW WITH LARRY WILMORE or may co-starring on the two-time, Golden Globe Award-winning, and 11 time Emmy nominated, TV series TRANSPARENT on Amazon. He was known for being Margaret Cho’s opening act for years, turned cross-country headliner and a groundbreaking transgender comedian, unafraid to joke about subjects no other comedian has ever touched. In the spring 2014, Harvie, with the help of friend and Executive Producer Cho, Harvie unveiled his first-ever live standup comedy special, poking fun at topics from top surgery, to his fear of public restrooms, to his active sex life in the feature concery film IAN HARVIE SUPERHERO. Harvie’s unique act queers the traditionally macho, sex-obsessed world of stand up in ways you won’t believe, proving that laughter cuts across all gender identities and ultimately unites us all.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunches.
