9:15-10:15 Group Discussion: The tacit and explicit role of the environmental in defining the American experience

10:30-11:30 Coastal Southern New England case study: How to integrate environmental perspectives into American Studies curriculum?
11:30-11:45 Group Activity—Developing approaches to “environmentalizing" a unit (small groups select a period, develop questions about environment-human dialog, identify ways to answer the question
11:45-12:30 Working Lunch (informal Q & A)
12:30-1:15 Presentations
1:15-2:00 Designing the environment assignment and grading rubric
