TITLE: "Engaging Individuals in Supported Weight Management Efforts"

Speaker: Megan McVay, Ph.D., Duke University School of Medicine

Target Audience: UConn Health faculty, residents, medical students, and other mental health professionals.

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to): 1. Evaluate patient characteristics and treatment characteristics that might be relevant to patients’ decisions to initiate behavioral treatment for weight loss and other health conditions. 2. Recognize which provider communication strategies have been associated with weight loss treatment initiation. 3. Be familiar with brief, opportunistic approaches to increasing treatment initiation.

Accreditation: The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
