Volunteers who will be collecting data as part of the CT Trail Census will be required to participate in this face to face training prior to data collection times in May and September. Participants will learn how to prepare for and assess the CT Trail Census Intercept Survey including day of logistics and setup, safety and approaching trail users, checking for completeness of data, handling completed surveys, and volunteer hour tracking. Participants will also be able to communicate the goals and purpose of the Trail Census and learn basic maintenance techniques for the infrared trail counters.
