Title: Finding Cancers or Saving Lives? Limitations of Screening

Target Audience: The Department of Medicine faculty, housestaff and students, though many topics will be of interest to housestaff, students and other faculty members within the University of CT Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine.

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):

1. Understand the literature suggesting that physical activity reduces cancer incidence and morality. 2. Articulate in a quantitative manner the limitations of current cancer screening modalities. 3. Identify visual aids to help counsel patients on the quantitative benefits and risks of screening and other medical interventions.

Accreditation: The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
