Moderator:  John C. Volin, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Office of the Provost, NRE Professor, Department of Natural Resources, UConn. He has worked in ecosystems around the world on land and water use and sustainability, focusing his research efforts on invasive species ecology and restoration.

Panelists:   Penny Vlahos, Associate Professor of Marine Sciences & the Department of Chemistry at UConn. Her research interests are in the geochemistry of carbon and nitrogen, particularly in understanding and identifying the processes that control the global cycling of carbon, with an emphasis on organic carbon. 

Veronica Herrera, Assistant Professor of Political Science, UConn. She studies comparative urban and subnational politics and environmental policymaking, with a focus on Latin America. She is the author of Water and Politics: Clientelism and Reform in Urban Mexico (University of Michigan Press, 2017)

Chester L. Arnold, Water Quality Educator and Director for Outreach at the Center for Land Use Education and Research (CLEAR) and Co-Director of the NEMO Program at UConn. He has developed and worked on a wide variety of programs involving land use and water resource protection, focusing primarily on communities as a target audience.
