(Pre-show Concert Talk, 6:45 p.m.)

One of Russia’s finest orchestras joins forces with cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan– winner of the 2011 Tchaikovsky Competition – for an evening of glorious music. The MSSO is one of the oldest symphony orchestras in Russia, and its partnership with Pavel Kogan has earned it an enviable reputation for artistic excellence, imaginative programming, and a loyal following around the world. The orchestra’s wide-ranging programs combine great orchestral, operatic, and choral classics with equally significant music of the 21st century, including many forgotten and neglected works. Program WAGNER Tristan und Isolde, WWV 90: Overture SCHUMANN Cello Concerto in A minor, Op.129 SIBELIUS Symphony No.2 in D Major, Op.43
