"The Last Man Out": National Hazing Prevention Week Lecture

As a member of a national fraternity, Adam found lifelong friends, mentors, and created countless memories. Adam’s brotherhood experience positively impacted the course of his life. In Adam’s keynote, The Last Man Out, Adam shares his story about losing his brotherhood and living alone in his fraternity house after a hazing incident resulted in the closure of their chapter. Adam addresses the value of brotherhood/sisterhood and defines the real costs associated with hazing. By the end of this program, students will understand the power of joining an organization, be able to identify all forms of hazing, and understand clear strategies to address hazing in their organizations.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: As a result of attending this program, students will learn:

- Specific strategies to address hazing aligned with campus student conduct standards, - The true value of being in a Greek / Athletic organization, - Differentiate between rituals and bullying, - Professional and personal repercussions of hazing, - How to take ownership of their organization and personal actions.
