PD Session on Teaching Human Rights - Sold Out

Join us on Saturday morning for a professional development session and discussion aimed at helping K-12 teachers incorporate writing and reading that addresses human rights issues in new and creative ways. Hosted in conjunction with the Annual Connecticut Children's Book Fair at UConn, this session features:

Writer Chandra Prasad, author of Damselfly and other books that explore issues of race, class, and gender Neag School literacy professor Doug Kaufman, who works with K-12 teachers to promote equity and social justice in schools Neag School doctoral student Ellen Cavanaugh, who has developed tools to help connect literacy instruction and human rights

All are welcome; participants will receive a Neag School classroom care package. Light breakfast will be served. The event is free to attend.
