Human Rights and Guatemala: Digitization Projects

Please join us for project presentations by

Hannah Alpert-Adams (PhD, Spanish, University of Texas Austin; currently postdoctoral fellow, Brown University) has been project manager on the digital archive of the National Police of Guatemala, and worked extensively on digital archiving and the history of the book: http://www.halperta.com/

Alex Galarza (PhD, History, Michigan State; currently postdoc, Haverford College) has been leading an international project to digitizing and archiving the collections of major Guatemalan human rights NGOs: http://alexgalarza.com/

Drs. Alpert-Adams and Galarza will present and take questions on the path-breaking projects they have led. Come see Digital Humanities work in action, in close connection with international human rights and new approaches to archival practice and public scholarship.
