"Art, Science, and Conservation: Saving the World's Great Whales and other Marine Mammals"

On April 17 at 6:30pm, please come to UConn-Avery Point’s Branford House for a reception and lecture on “Art, Science & Conservation: Saving the World’s Great Whales and Other Marine Mammals”

Biologist Dr. Andrea Bogomolni and artist Kristian Brevik will give presentations and lead a discussion entitled, “Art, Science and Conservation: Saving the World’s Great Whales and Other Marine Mammals” at the Branford House at UConn Avery Point. The discussion will be followed by a reception and a special viewing of Kristian’s artwork in the Alexey von Schlippe Gallery at 7:30pm.

Bogomolni is a Visiting Investigator at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Falmouth, Mass. Brevik is a visual artist and creator of the “Entangled: Ghost Whales” sculptural installation currently on display at the von Schlippe Gallery at Branford House. The whale sculptures were also part of the recent “Crosscurrents” exhibition celebrating 10 years of the Connecticut Sea Grant Arts Support Awards Program. Brevik received one of the 2018 Awards.
