UConn Summer Speaker Series:How to Think About Entrepreneurship & Startups

Tuesday, June 11, 2019
6:30pm – 8:30pm

Stamford Campus
Art Gallery

Startups and the life of the entrepreneur are either the coolest thing you can do, or the loneliest most painful way to live, depending on who you listen to. In this session, serial entrepreneur Hugh Seaton will break it down to what it even means to be an entrepreneur, key lessons that help whether you are following your own idea, or someone else’s, and how you can set yourself up for the “cool" version.

About the Speaker Hugh Seaton is a Stamford native who started his career at a steel factory in southern Taiwan, spent 20 years in advertising, and began his first business in Shanghai in 2010. Since returning to the US in 2012, Hugh has founded and led hackathons, conferences and meetups in New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Boston, all while founding and running Aquinas Learning, a software company focused on applying AI to learning. In 2019, Hugh sold the VR/AR part of Aquinas to the Glimpse Group, where he is currently GM of Adept Reality, a corporate training software division. Hugh got his undergrad at Miami of Ohio, and MBA at Columbia Business School/London Business School.
