The Edwin Way Teale Lecture Series --"Nature and the Environment"-- honors the legacy of a prominent American naturalist, photographer, and writer who helped bridge the gap between the conservation and ecological movements of the 20th century. The Teale Series developed as a joint effort of a number of departments, out of discussions initiated in 1995 by faculty members and graduate students with common interests in the many facets of environmental issues. The Lecture Series is designed to bring a variety of distinguished lecturers to the University to speak on various aspects of nature and the environment.
