Please join our faculty and constitutional and comparative law scholars from around the world for "Original Constitutionalist: Reconstructing Richard Kay's Scholarship". This International conference honors Professor Richard Kay, Wallace Stevens Professor of Law Emeritus, and Oliver Ellsworth Research Professor, UConn School of Law.

Professor Kay is a leading scholar of constitutional interpretation, constitutional theory and comparative constitutional law. His recent monograph, The Glorious Revolution and the Continuity of Law (Catholic University of America Press, 2014) is a historical study of the relationship between revolution and legality. Professor Kay is currently President of the American Society of Comparative Law.

In this conference, leading scholars from the U.S., Canada, UK, New Zealand, Israel and Australia will take up major themes of Prof. Kay’s scholarship, including: Textualist, intentionalist, and originalist interpretation; Rule of recognition; Constituent power and constitutional change; Equal protection; Religious tolerance; and Institutional change and the continuity of law.
