Latin American Center for Physics, a challenge for the developing of science

Latin American Center for Physic (CLAF) has the unique status among other Latin American institutions of being an intergovernmental organization. There is no such thing for mathematics, chemistry or other discipline. The representatives at CLAF are in fact representatives of the country member states. Due to its official status, it represents an opportunity to find a way for the developing of sciences in Latin America region.

Latin American cultural history and its link with the scientific development is presented. The present talk presents an analysis of the development of science and technology in the region and the new paradigms that such Center has to face. The fields highly developed in the region are also presented and discussed.

The contributions of the organism, its distinctive feature, the different types of graduate staff training and links with various bodies that keeps the CLAF currently listed. The projection center programs to Latin America and Central America are presented emphasizing support for experimental research and technological development. The search of joint scientific policies among various similar bodies to CLAF is important for achieving new paradigms that allow more rapid development of science and technology in Latin America.
