TITLE: “Assessing Synaptic Health in Alzheimer’s Disease using PET Imaging”

Speaker: Adam Mecca, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry and the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Unit, Yale School of Medicine

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):

1. Describe how small molecule radiotracers can be used to perform in vivo molecular imaging with positron emission tomography (PET).

2. Identify pathologic proteins that are currently associated with AD pathology.

3. Discuss the potential benefits of imaging synaptic density in order to understand AD pathology and assess therapeutic efficacy.

Target Audience: Health Center faculty, residents, medical students, and other mental health professionals
