Thursday, April 9, 2020
6:00pm – 7:00pm

Stamford Campus
A1 auditorium

"What Are You? is a short documentary film that explores the nuances of race, ethnicity and culture through the lens of the Filipino American community by recent UConn alum Nina Drozdenko. Funded by the UConn IDEA Grant and Presidential Scholarship Enrichment Award, What Are You? includes interviews with nine Filipino Americans across the United States about what it means to be Filipino. After the film screening, Nina and a small panel will hold a discussion contextualizing the themes of the film with the audience and the broader multi-cultural community.

Nina Drozdenko is a recent graduate of Digital Media and Design and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the UConn Stamford campus. As a multiracial, second-generation Filipino American with a passion for all things creative, Nina is focused on building a career based on telling stories big and small through art and design. She currently lives in Stamford and works at a software company in Shelton, CT as Creative Designer. "
