INTENDED AUDIENCE: New faculty, staff, students, visitors, and other individuals working in laboratories where hazardous chemicals are used or stored

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course reviews the OSHA Laboratory Standard, the UConn Chemical Hygiene Plan, exposure limits, signs and symptoms of chemical exposures, the health and physical hazards of chemicals, standard operating procedures, hazard controls, and the emergency procedures to protect employees in laboratories. The initial in-person or online training, or online refresher must be completed each year. An initial training must be completed before a learner will be eligible to earn credit for the refresher.
