Gaussian integrals and combinatorics
Filip Dul (UMass Amherst)

Wednesday, April 13, 2022
5:30pm – 6:30pm

Storrs Campus
Monteith 214

In this talk, we take a look at Gaussian integrals, a class of integrals which play a central role in a broad variety of subjects. We will explicitly compute an example on the real line and present some higher-dimensional versions. Then we'll describe how some clever combinatorics allows us compute a broad class of related integrals. Time permitting, we will see how the preceding combinatorial computations play a role in modern physics.

Note: Free refreshments. The talk starts at 5:40.
